James Wood Open Woods & Workshops

Woodland Heritage is opening its demonstration site, James Wood, for walking tours as part of Open Woods & Workshops on June 20th, 21st, 27th, and 28th, 2025.

This event is an opportunity to visit Woodland Heritage’s demonstration site. Visitors to James Wood will be led around the site on a walking tour. We will talk through species selection and planting, obstacles and issues, plans and intentions, woodland management, pest management, and other topics linked to woodland creation and management.

This event is designed in collaboration with Williams & Cleal Furniture, who are opening their renowned workshops on the same days.

Open Woods & Workshops

Open Woods & Workshops is a new initiative from Woodland Heritage, Registered Charity No: 1041611. The initiative sees hosts in the UK open their woodlands and workshops to the public to share wood culture. It’s a unique opportunity to explore rarely accessible places and learn about the skills involved in working with wood and growing trees.
