THE M5 through Somerset has re-opened after an overnight closure following a crash and spillage.
Repairs to the barrier at the crash scene, near Junction 24 of the M5 – for Bridgwater – were carried out after the incident, which happened at just before 3pm on Tuesday afternoon.

A Highways England spokesperson confirmed the M5 re-opened at just after 5am today (February 3).
A spokesperson said yesterday: “The lorry ruptured it’s fuel tank, which resulted in a large spillage, and nearside barrier damage has also been reported.”
The crash caused problems for drivers, with around three miles of queues on the motorway into the evening.
