Man left with broken rib after hit-and-run near Monkton Elm Garden Centre, Taunton

A MAN was left with a broken rib after being hit by a car near Taunton – before the car left the scene.

The incident happened on the A38 near the entrance to Monkton Elm Garden Centre at around 2.15pm on Saturday (September 19).

Police are now keen to hear from anyone who saw the incident – or the car that fled.

“A Mercedes car collided with a man on the A38 near to the entrance of Monkton Elm Garden Centre at around 2.15pm on Saturday before driving off,” a police spokesperson said.

“A 33-year-old man sustained a broken rib in the incident.”
