Discovered during a house clearance in West Dorset, these beautifully crafted pieces showcase Taplin’s renowned artistry. Known for his bird sculptures made from salvaged coastal materials, Taplin has built an esteemed reputation in the art world.

The sale features a Tufted Duck, signed and dated 1984, measuring 38cm in length. Also included is an impressive large Swan, standing 69cm high. Though unsigned, the Swan has been authenticated by Mr. Taplin himself as an early work.

Both sculptures will be part of Lawrences’ 20th Century Modern Art & Design Sale, which concludes on April 11th.
