A flood alert has been put in place for the River Tone catchment area this evening, November 2.
The warning reads: “River levels are forecast to rise overnight on the River Tone, Hillfarrance Brook, Halsewater Stream due to heavy rainfall.
“Flooding is possible at roads around Hillfarrance, Bradford on Tone, Lane End Road at Ham and the Creech St Michael to Henlade road.”
As well as the alert, the warning advises locals to avoid low lying footpaths and bridges near water.
It also advises drivers to take care in flood water.
“Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
“We will continue to monitor levels closely. This message will be updated by 12:00 noon on November 3, or as the situation changes.”
